Cat Treats, Finally!

Cat Treats, Finally!

North Woods Animal Treats on Aug 14th 2025

Cats are true or obligate carnivores.  As opposed to dogs who are omnivores.  A true carnivore’s digestive system is set up to process pure protein most efficiently.  They can’t synthesize certain nutrients in processed foods, but they don’t have to, as the proteins they eat in the wild already have done it for them.

According to Petmed.com, “Cats don’t have several of the digestive enzymes necessary for breaking down carbohydrates, so they are unable to utilize simple sugars. Their short intestinal tract makes eating a concentrated, highly digestible diet imperative for good digestion. Cats also lack a functional cecum, the site where intestinal bacteria digest plant fiber. This limits their ability to digest plant tissue.”

Dogs are omnivores, and opportunistic carnivores.  Dogs can much more easily digest plant matter as well as proteins.  As some of us know, our dogs will eat anything!

This is why until now we haven’t offered a cat treat. It has taken us 15 plus years to find the right treats for our cats.  We are so proud to be able to offer a cat treat for your bestie that is protein laden and hugely palatable.  It is also produced from raw proteins, which is what your cat craves and digests the best.

Freeze drying is a revolution in cat treats.  The process maintains the nutritional content and flavor while extending the shelf life. It ensures the product remains as close to its natural state as possible.

You can find our new “Cat Bites” here. Your bestie will be glad you did!  We are offering three flavors, beef, chicken and duck.  Try them all!
